IS TV DYING?!

Is TV dying? In my opinion, yes it is. Back then, everyone I knew loved to watch TV. I would watch cable TV for hours and time would pass without me noticing, and this was my favorite way to procrastinate. But now? I still procrastinate...but I do it using other forms of entertainment. In our modern day society, everyone is on their phones, computers or laptops. We spend countless hours on the Internet, on social media tweeting, posting and liking pictures, watching movies and shows online ALL DAY, EVERY DAY. I mean, I don't even remember the last time I watched a TV show on cable and tuned into it without going on my phone. Thanks to Netflix, Shomi, YouTube, (my personal Holy Trinity), and other forms of media entertainment, we could watch any video, movie, or TV show that we want to watch, when we want.

With internet based television services, such as Netflix, it has become so popular because of the many perks of having it. One being you don't really have to deal with commercials that go on before the most intense scene, or you don't have to deal with commercials at all. Also, another great thing about this form of television service is that you can watch multiple seasons and episodes. Yes, the newest season isn't always up, but there are a ton of other TV shows that you can indulge yourself into. With Netflix, it is way too easy to become someone who binge watches TV shows and movies, and I can’t lie, it’s one of my bittersweet “hobbies”. With a ton of options that you can watch whenever you want, you’ll feel like the world is on your hands.

You just don't hear anyone talk about watching shows on TV channels anymore. When people do talk about TV shows, hardly anyone goes "Hey, did you watch that show last night on ABC?" But instead, it goes something like, "So there’s this show on Netflix, you should watch it.” Even though cable TV isn’t as popular as it used to be, people still do watch it. TV is still useful for watching the news to know about the weather, news about something tragic or joyful, current events, the latest entertainment gossip, and more. When a big sport’s game comes on, the Olympics, and recently the Pan Am Games, we all go to watch TV and support our favorite teams.

A lot of channels may be losing viewers, a.k.a. my favorite childhood channels such as YTV, Family Channel, and Disney Channel, because a lot of the kids who used to watch shows there have grown up and are now into Netflix, YouTube, Shomi, and etc.

So, I think that TV may be dying because a lot of people have moved on to internet streaming media.

  3. I watch TV now because of my preference to use the showbox free software installed from the showboxvpn.com website. The new movies I updated the fastest.
